THE FIRM
Our design philosophy is to approach each design project with a fresh perspective for an attractive, efficient solution that achieves a balance between aesthetics, function and cost, with respect for the clients goals and budget. We develop our design concepts based on priorities and objectives we’ve determined by consulting with our clients. Ideally, we strive to achieve a ”meeting of the minds” with our clients to align all aspects of the project toward a brilliant solution.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
COMPANY PHILOSOPHY
Our goal is to provide personal service, superior design, attention to details and construction value to each and every client in a time sensitive manner.
Psiharis Associates is a small firm, focused on quality design for custom Residential and Commercial projects. The Principal of the firm, Thomas C. Psiharis, is a licensed Architect in the State of Illinois with over three decades of experience in a wide range of building types and sizes. Combined with his simultaneous ownership of a general contracting company, Thomas has practical hands on knowledge of the construction process that most architects know only on a theoretical level. His combination of design skills and construction expertise provide invaluable insight to the design of projects that result in tangible benefits to the client.
Having personally developed projects from start to finish with his own capital invested, Thomas has knowledge of and sensitivity to the risk reward equations an Owner undertakes in developing any project.
DESIGN STYLE
We don’t have a signature style of design, an identifiable look that says we designed it. As you can see in our portfolio, we design in many different styles, from Traditional to Contemporary, as appropriate for each client and location.
We believe the design should be a reflection of the clients preferences, not the Architects
“GREEN BUILDING” Energy Conscious Design
We’ve believed strongly in energy conscious design for over thirty years. Utilizing up to date construction techniques and systems, such as high density insulation and high efficiency heating systems have always been an integral part of our designs. Until recently, the availability and cost of many materials and systems have made their incorporation into projects impractical for most clients. Now with a government emphasis on energy conservation and tax credits to lessen the financial burden, green building is more viable and an important component in any project. Contact us for ways we can make your building more energy efficient and sustainable.
